Shipping Policy
At Once Upon a Bookshop, we aim to dispatch orders promptly and package your books and bookish goods with care. This policy explains how we process and ship orders placed through our online store.
Dispatch times
We dispatch orders daily, and our standard handling time is 1–3 business days unless otherwise stated. During busy periods such as Christmas, sales, or other peak trading times, dispatch may take a little longer. Items made to order may also require extra processing time, and this will be noted in the relevant product description.
Shipping methods and rates
We offer Standard Shipping and Express Shipping within Australia. Shipping charges are calculated according to the current rates shown at checkout, and these prices may change from time to time. We offer complimentary shipping on orders over AUD $150.00 unless otherwise stated.
Delivery area
At present, we only ship within Australia. This may change in future, and any international shipping updates will be announced on our website.
Pre-orders and made-to-order items
We only list items that are currently available for purchase unless a product is clearly marked as a pre-order. Pre-order details will be displayed separately on our Pre-Order Information page. Products made to order may take longer to dispatch, and estimated timeframes will be provided in the product description where applicable.
Incorrect address details
Please ensure your shipping address is correct at checkout. Once an order has been placed, we cannot guarantee that address changes can be made. Incorrect address details entered by the customer are the customer’s responsibility.
Lost, damaged, or stolen parcels
If your parcel is marked as delivered but has not been received, or if it arrives damaged or appears to be missing, please contact us within 7 days of the delivery date so we can investigate. We may ask for photos, tracking details, and any other supporting information. We will assess each case individually and, where appropriate, assist with a claim with Australia Post. We do not offer shipping insurance or signature on delivery.
Delays outside our control
Once an order has been lodged with Australia Post, delivery timeframes are managed by Australia Post and may be affected by weather, peak periods, network delays, or other factors outside our control. If a delay occurs, please contact us and we will do our best to help track the parcel.
